The SFDC Board


Slow Food DC’s board is made up of a small group of devoted volunteers who meet to plan events and oversee organization communications and operations.

Events Committee:
This committee spearheads the planning, organization, and implementation of events for the Slow Food membership and public at large, including educational activities to preserve culinary traditions; events with restaurants, chefs, and artisan food producers; and farm tours.

Communications Committee:
This committee is responsible for all communications via email, the chapter website, and social media. Members help create a monthly e-newsletter, respond to media inquiries, and produce press releases for major events. The team also manages email coming in through the address.

Operations Committee:
Running an all-volunteer organization requires good organizational management. This committee ensures that the organizational aspects of Slow Food DC are running smoothly, including scheduling meetings and taking minutes, treasury duties, monitoring workflows, and ensuring accurate membership lists and email contact information.
